The Place Where God Lives
This is one of those dreams I didn't want to wake up from. It was so beautiful and fantastic and warm and a million other positive adjectives that I can't even think of right now (perhaps I should invest in a thesaurus?). It started off with what felt like an out-of-body experience. I was floating above my body and I looked down at myself, but I wasn't afraid. I was thinking "Hey, I really am going someplace else when I die!"
I floated up through the roof, up through the clouds and into space. That was the only time I got a little scared, because I was beyond the earth's gravitational pull. I thought maybe I would keep floating all the way to the end of the universe. As I was looking down on earth I really got the idea of how tiny it was in comparison to the infinite blackness of space. I was thinking "My God, I'm nothing but a speck of dust..." The second I said that, I heard a voice right next to me say "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Needless to say, I was somewhat startled that there was someone floating up there with me!
When I turned to see who it was, I saw the most beautiful being imaginable. I can't even say that he
was the stereotypical version of angels that people have drawn, sculpted or painted throughout the centuries. The only way I can describe him is to say that he was absolutely ethereal. And he radiated such warmth and love that it was nearly overwhelming. I just sort of stared at him for the longest, not really knowing what to say. He took my hand and pulled me along with him. I never saw his lips move but I heard inside my head, "My name is Michael and I am your guide." The things he showed me were incredible. I saw stars being born and stars dying. I saw galaxies being formed from cosmic dust. I saw planets and the suns they orbited.

I had no sense of time passing in any way, but it had to have been because the things I saw just couldn't have happened in a split second. After he had shown me a multitude of wonders, Michael said, "There is one other thing you must see."
He showed me something that I will never really be able to truly describe, but I'll do my best. It was a ball of the purest white light, brighter than the sun...brighter than a thousand suns could ever be. And all around it were millions of tiny sparks swirling toward it, sort of like they were orbiting closer and closer until they were just absorbed by it. I looked at Michael because I had no idea what I was seeing. He said "This is where God lives, and you are watching Him gather up His people." That bright light was where God was??! I knew I had to go there and be with Him so I started to go forward, but Michael stopped me. "It is not time. You will be with Him soon enough." The next thing I knew I was back inside my body, utterly crushed. And I felt so heavy, you know? I was light and free when I was with Michael and now I was weighed down by my imperfect human body. It took me the whole day to get rid of that feeling and just be happy that I know exactly where I'm going when I die.
